Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS)
The RIMS Enterprise Risk Management Development Committee selected LogicManager-recognized by RIMS as a leader in ERM expertise and innovative software solutions-to develop a risk maturity model for ERM. LogicManager donated its intellectual property, expertise, and services to the cause. Along with acknowledged contributions from ERM Development Committee members, the RIMS Risk Maturity Model for ERM © (RMM) was born in 2006.
RIMS Risk Maturity Model for ERM is a requirements model created for executives in risk management and others charged with risk management responsibilities. RMM is used to design sustainable ERM programs and infrastructures that reflect each organization’s strategy and their short, mid and long-term business objectives.
RMM also is an educational, planning, and measurement resource. Boards of directors, chief executive officers, chief financial officers, chief audit executives and consultants use RMM to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of organizations’ ERM programs. RMM generates 68 key readiness indicators. These indicators describe 25 competency drivers for 7 attributes that create ERM’s value and utility in an organization. The RMM maturity ladder progressively scores from “ad hoc” to “leadership” and depicts corresponding levels of risk management competency.
